It's no picnic for the treetop teddy bears

WITH Cheshire’s roads in perpetual chaos, schools under threat and selection procedures in turmoil, isn’t it comforting to know that county councillors have their eye on the ball?

With a plague of rats terrorising the Colshaw Farm Estate, overflowing dustbins, fly-tipping and the very real possibility of a summer epidemic, County Hall have their attention firmly focused on… teddy bears.

I kid you not. Cheshire County Councillors have brought the full force of their combined intelligence down on teddies and stuffed toys. From henceforth all such characters will be banished from council recycling depots.

When it comes to the crunch these councillors are fearless, even Winnie the Poo has been given his stumping orders. God knows what’s happened to Christopher Robin? Courageous civic leaders like these are worth their (dead) weight in council tax.

Forget schools, roads, rats and disease, let’s concentrate on stuffed animals. Who will face-down Snoopy, Hector, Poo Bear, Piglet and Eeyore if our councillors don’t do it? Doesn’t it make you proud?

So, next time you visit the tip and all you see is junk, waste and garbage think of the Cheshire County Council. Clasp their photo to your bosom and thank God they’ll be gone by next April.

It does present an opportunity to lampoon the council, ive said it before, this pooh bear is a menace, he spreads radical fundamentalism amongst all teddies about a free 100 acre wood. If you go down to the words today, you'd better watch out for a Pooh bear armed with semtex.
