PC police are guilty of missing real criminals

THE POLITICALLY Correct Brigade has been monitoring our speech for a decade, stridently weeding out words that might unconsciously influence our moral compass.
There are now no ‘actresses’ or ‘women police constables’ – only actors and constables.
The word ‘blacklisted’ has been replaced by banned, we can no longer tell a ‘white’ lie, and a ‘flip-chart’ has become an easel for fear of insulting Filipinos.
A female dog must not be referred to as a ‘bitch’, or an outcast as a ‘black sheep’.
However bizarre the affiliation, the PC police have found some subconscious offence, so I’m more than a little perplexed at their tolerance of the language used in our courts.
Last week a defence lawyer described his teenage client as a "hard-working, thoughtful and quiet young man" just before he was sentenced for viciously stabbing a neighbour with a kitchen knife.
I wonder how the victim’s family felt about that.
Another lawyer at Chester Crown Court described his client’s behaviour in punching a man in the face as a "blip".
I’d say that was highly offensive to the unfortunate soul who got assaulted, and what affect does it have on the criminal perception of violence?
If referring to a woman as an actress is demeaning, what does it do to the victims of crime to hear their attackers spoken of in such glowing terms and their violent deeds downgraded to a mere "blip"?
Anyone referring to the perpetrator of a racial attack as a "hard-working, thoughtful and quiet young man", and to his actions as a mere "blip" would be publicly castigated, so why tolerate such language for any victim?
It’s time the PC police turned their attention to the trivialisation of crime and the lack of respect shown to all victims.
