Blue Badge team is in red rage
Vic Barlow5/ 3/2008
THE logical policy for any organisation prior to major restructuring is to keep a steady hand, deferring any organisational decisions until the new management takes over.
But Cheshire County Council don’t do ‘logic’, they do ‘chaos’. Having alienated every parent in the county with their school closure fiasco they have now decided to disband the Blue Badge Team who deal with the mobility needs of the most vulnerable members of society.
Regardless of a promise their jobs would be secure, the team, currently based in Macclesfield, is to be moved to Middlewich, making eight of the current staff redundant.
This will create more disruption and chaos, with every possibility that the whole process will be changed again as soon as the new East Cheshire Authority takes over.
What can you expect from a council that spends £60,000 moving four newts? Maybe they’ve gone to Middlewich?
