Shadow elections were a bit dull
Vic Barlow14/ 5/2008
SO, DID you cast your vote at the local elections? It was a mite confusing don’t you think? Initially I thought I was voting to elect ONE councillor; then I understood I could vote for THREE but if I voted for TWO it might negate my ballot paper but it didn’t, so I could. It was all a bit bizarre.
Vic "Red Ken"? Now I have heard every nonsense. Atilla the Hun maybe, but a Red Ken ---- Never

Pete111, what a sad unhinged response. That snacks of the old unelectable labour rhetoric. Instead of being all mouth, you could have stood yourself, could you not?

Our "Red Ken', Vic, should have been you - but you wouldn't stand for whatever reason. Well, I'll guess: because you know the unfortunate truth that the party hacks win out time after time, even displacing, this time round, a couple of Independents. And that the Tories will win those rural and rich areas that constitute 'Macclesfield' come hell, high water or dubious expenses claims - which means, unless we have a Town Council, that we are completely disenfranchised and always will be so.

As for A Resident, my response is anything but unhinged. It results from the geography and the demographics of what constitutes 'Macclesfield' - those who live in the town DO NOT have their voice heard.
My reasons for 'not standing' would probably be the same as Vic's if he were pushed to elaborate (and I gave those reasons last time). And as for 'all mouth', what exactly do you think Vic is?
In fact, you could say that anyone who comments on this forum - including you - are 'all mouth'.
