No justice for the law-abiding

Vic Barlow
7/ 5/2008

FOR ALL those police officers, magistrates, judges, solicitors and politicians who believe public scorn in the criminal justice system is unwarranted: read on.

The night Garry Newlove was murdered outside his Warrington home began, like many others, with a spate of criminal damage.

Pete 111 - Apologies for the delay in responding. Have added comment after your text :

You will acknowledge that at critical times people find it very difficult to get through to the Police and get them round - have you ever thought of starting a blog, or a web site, in which people could get in touch with you? ( Difficult one as it could become a full time job in itself. I have a monthly column in the Macc Express and regularly ask people to get in touch if they want me me to comment on certain issues. It rarely happens so my column tends to be topical to what I am currently dealing with. I am happy to contribute to sites such as this as I feel it is important to do so. Longer term it may be possible to introduce a blog and video footage of police interventions into the force website. Again I would be more than happy to develop that in terms of striving to ensure that everyone would know who to contact, for what and how )

No, this wouldn't solve the problem highlighted - but it just might be a really good way to cement the links between police and those who live in these at-risk street ( Totally agree )

And the closer those links are, the more we are all going to achieve ( Again, agree completely )

oh Barker, such cutting comments, its great that you have come out of retirment to jump on the bandwaggon but what can we expect now?, another 6 weeks of ignoring us?, say it ain't so, how will we cope without your sense of humour.....

Epsilon, they demean any topic with their childish and irresponsible behaviour. They demean themselves but do not even seem to be aware of it. Your suggestion of ignoring them is best, I know I have.

All the best and good luck to you Gerry. All Maxonians are not like the exiled rejects.

Epsilon old boy, nice to hear from you again. You say i admit to using a psudenym - when did i do that? You didnt actually think my real name was The Satisfied Customer did you? Sorry for misleading you, by the way i dont think there is a Mr Slinky Wizard living in Macc either, life must be so complicated for you old boy!

You and Vic Barlow must have been spending too much time on Bridge Street to get so confused....

Yours Truly

The Satisfied Customer (not my real name!)

Epsilon, your pixels have been missed, how are you?, nice to see your still with us, we were wondering if that cold snap recently had finished you off. Glad to hear it hasn't.

Gerry take no notice of the Satisfied Customer, Slinky or MF, as their only real concern seems to be to criticise anything which is written by Vic Barlow, as others can see. They are one of the reasons that I had refrained from offering an opinion, but “Obdurate Stupidity”, I wish I had thought of that one but I missed out. As you can see because you have criticised MF his buddy the Satisfied Customer has now accused you of being me. Strange, when he has admitted that he has posted using a pseudonym.

I wish you well in your campaigns for keeping the cause of Gary Newlove and his family to the fore.

   Let's see...

1) Mohammed Shafiq is reported to have been stabbed to death after trying to protect his teenage son, some time after calling a non-emergency police line. According to the Daily Mail, calls were made to 999 by bystanders, and "police and paramedics responded swiftly".

2) Sophie Lancaster, the "goth" in Lancashire was not attacked and kicked to death while waiting for a response; the attack had already occurred by the time a bystander called 999 for an ambulance to come to the scene.

Perhaps Gerry can't do the research to provide examples that actually illustrate his point because he's too busy pretending that he's from Warrington...

...or perhaps they're just too few and far between, perhaps indicating that there isn't quite the problem that Mr. Barlow and his acolytes would have us believe...

Why the need to call MF stupid?, he has not been rude to you, you say your closely involved with Mr Newlove's murder, I hope you act with more diplomacy and tact.

Gerry why do you feel the need to call people stupid just because they disagree with you. You say you normally stick to the Warrington press but have gone "national", i didnt realise the Macc Express was so nationally read/reknowned. As for your campaigning for Garry please provide us some links/further information about this so we can join your worthy cause/movement.

And also just to make sure you arent Epsilon in disguise :-)

Thanks for mentioning me again Gerry, very sweet of you. Please remind me of why you think i am stupid? Doesnt need an answer though does it Gerry?, basically anyone with a different thought process to you is "stupid"

The inference being that you are therefore clever, more intelligent etc, please give me one reason why i should give this glimmer of fantasy any credence and i will, Gerry.

Gerry, first: best of luck with the campaign in Warrington. The Newloves deserve it.

Gareth, seen that you're posting from the Police. Just a question: we all know that this is a real problem, that we really do have an issue with not-brought-up kids on some of our street corners; and that this pocket of crime may reside within a larger context of falling crime, but is the very one that all of us are worried about.

You will acknowledge that at critical times people find it very difficult to get through to the Police and get them round - have you ever thought of starting a blog, or a web site, in which people could get in touch with you?

No, this wouldn't solve the problem highlighted - but it just might be a really good way to cement the links between police and those who live in these at-risk streets.

MF you seem to be joined at the hip to the Satisfied Customer in his obdurate stupidity. Similar cases, unfortunately abound in the press. I am sure that a good “Google” would provide the answers to your question, so you could put yourself to a little effort if you are not seeing these cases. Try an Asian father in London going to his sons assistance in a London park, while waiting for the Police. He was stabbed to death. Try a young lady “Goth” defending her boyfriend in a park in Lancashire. She was attacked and kicked to death while waiting for a response, and there are many more. If you have little or no connection to this country I suggest that you do your own research – There are plenty of cases.

Gareth – No offence taken – but it but the comments were made on the article and appeared to be directed to it. If I am wrong then my apologies.

I would normally contain my self to the Warrington press but Garry's case deserves and needs national exposure. I must say that Mr Fahey is a bit of an embarasment.

Gerry I didnt intend for my comments to relate specifically to the Garry Newlove case. I am commenting from my local Macclesfield perspective in an effort to provide some balance from a policing perspective. I totally agree that the Garry Newlove case needs to remain in the spotlight as it is pivotal to the national problems that I made mention to. I appreciate you taking the time respond. Regards Gareth.

Gerry - please give specific examples of the similar incidents that you claim to have occurred since the death of Mr. Newlove.
