The mother of a boy with learning disabilities whose playhouse was wrecked by arsonist has thanks the community for their support.
Elliott Hough, five, was left devastated after yobs struck in the garden of his home on Wenlock Close, Macclesfield.
The blaze also caused irreparable damage to many of his favourite outdoor toys.
But since appearing in the Express his mum Simone has been inundated with offers of help.
She has also been promised a replacement playhouse for Elliott.
The news has brought a smile back to the face of the Ivy Bank Primary School pupil who is unable to speak because of his condition Global Developmental Delay – meaning he is behind other children of his age.
Simone, a single mum of four, said: “We have been overwhelmed by lovely messages of support from the community.
“People have been calling offering their old playhouses to Elliott, as well as new toys and donations.
“We’ve decided to take up an offer of a new playhouse which is extremely generous. I have felt terrible turning down the offers.
“It has brought a smile to Elliott’s face, which is the greatest gift.”
