Festival fashion minus mud

I HAVE never been to a music festival and up until last week I would have said they weren't for me. No showers, muddy fields and nowhere to plug in my hair appliances - all the things that make me shudder!

So when it was suggested we do an item on festival fashion, I had to make sure that I wouldn't have to wear wellies or get up close to a portable toilet.

We asked Ayesha Edmondson, fashion advisor from John Lewis at The Trafford Centre, to put together a few must-have outfits for those planning to head to a muddy field this season.

Boho chic

She took inspiration from Kate Moss and her bum-skimming shorts, Sienna Miller's boho chic and Kelly Osbourne's VIP tent look.

According to Ayesha, your outfits need to look effortlessly put together, the kind of thing that makes you respond to compliments with "Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on".

Also on the show, the lovely Armand Beasley from How to Look Good Naked was back in Manchester. He is helping Specsavers find the spectacle wearer of the year. Armand flies the flag for glasses wearers as he is Mr Gorgeous in his.
