A group of friends are raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in honour of their friend who has the illness.
Pete Henshall, Oli Nolan (pictured) and James Irish, all 20, will collect money at Tesco on Hibel Road for the charity which supports people with Cystic Fibrosis.
The mates are working in honour of their friend, Matt McGuinness, 20, from Rainow, who has the illness.
The four became friends at Tytherington High School.
Pete said: “Matt has cystic fibrosis and when ill can spend weeks in hospital. But he gets on with it and tries to lead a normal life.
“We want to raise awareness to ensure people know about this life-limiting illness and raise money to enable research that may find a cure.
“We’ve all been friends for years so the charity is close to our hearts. The people of Macclesfield have been generous and we would like to thank everyone for their support.”
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease which means the lungs and digestive system become clogged with a sticky mucus that makes it hard to breathe and digest food.
Lara Rigby, regional fundraising manager from the trust, said: “We’re extremely grateful for the fundraising and hope people support them.” The friends will be fundraising at Tesco from 9am to 5pm on Friday, April 11.
