Girls at Alderley school are on top of the world

Following on from excellent A Level results last week, the school is delighted to report that there has been a significant improvement in results this year as almost half of all grades achieved were at A* / A.

While outstanding results were achieved across the board, impressive individual performances include those from Ann-Michelle Mull with 11 A* grades, Rowdah Charbak with 9 A* and 2 A grades, Claudia Persico with 8 A* and 3 A grades, Fiona Smith with 7 A*, 1 A and two B grades and Katrina Thornber with 5 A* and 4 A grades.

Special congratulations should also go to Chikako Kawato achieved 4 A*, 4 A and 2 B grades despite English being her second language.

A 100pc pass rate was achieved in several subjects including ICT, History, Religion & Philosophy and all three Science subjects - with 91% of grades achieved at A* or A in Biology and Chemistry. In contrast to the declining national trend, the school had a high number of girls taking Modern Foreign Language subjects and nearly 60% of passes were awarded A* / A.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress at the school paid tribute to the staff and girls who all worked well together to achieve these fantastic results. Mrs Goff enthused, “Commitment, dedication and hard work are a winning combination and yet again, the girls have done themselves proud – they are a credit to the school and their parents“.

Mr James Russell, new Head of Sixth Form at the school commented, “”I look forward to welcoming all the girls, old and new, into the Sixth Form and I have every confidence in their ability to continue working hard and succeed as they embark on the next exciting stage of their academic journey.”
