A popular television antiques show is coming to Macclesfield.

BBC’s Flog it!, presented by Paul Martin, will head to Capesthorne Hall on Congleton Road in Siddington on Tuesday, October 11.

Residents are being encouraged to take along up to three antiques for a free valuation between 9.30am and 4pm.

Once valued, the owner and a team of experts decide whether an object should go forward for auction. If the item is chosen for inclusion in the show it is included in an auction a few weeks later – hopefully when the auctioneers hammer falls its owners make a tidy sum.

The items will be auctioned at Adam Partridge Auctioneers, based on Withyfold Drive, Macclesfield, on Thursday, November 3.

Everyone who goes along to the valuation day will receive a free appraisal of their items – even if their antiques are not chosen for filming or to go forward for auction.

Antique's expert Anita Manning will be among the experts heading to Capesthorne for the BBC show

The BBC will be making four editions of the show featuring Capesthorne Hall and they will be transmitted within eighteen months of recording. Paul Martin will be joined at the valuation day by on screen experts Anita Manning, Mark Stacey and Caroline Hawley.

Paul Martin, who presents the popular show, said he was 'thrilled' to be coming to Cheshire.

He said: "I’m thrilled to be bringing the show back to Cheshire; on our previous visits to the county we’ve always received a very warm welcome. I’m really looking forward to coming back and hope as many people as possible will bring along their items to the valuation day.”

And Nick Bromley-Davenport, marketing director at Capesthorne Hall, added: "We are delighted to be able to welcome the Flog It team to Capesthorne and hope it's a successful day for all concerned."
