IT worked with pop music and ballroom dancers, but few expected the Opportunity Knocks formula to survive a brush with campest sport in the world - ice dancing.

But even with real-life Ned Flanders Phillip Schofield at the helm, Dancing on Ice ( Saturday, ITV1) has proved a very precedented success. In the grand final the three remaining couples will battle it out at 6.50pm. One couple will be voted off and the other two will compete for the title at 9.10pm by performing their own version of Torvill and Dean's 1984 Olympic gold-medal winning dance to Ravel's Bolero. Fantastic.

If twirling, jumping, falling and crying on ice doesn't take your fancy you can watch Chelsea and Barcelona players try the same moves on grass.

The second leg of the crunch Champions' League ( Tuesday, ITV1) battle will be shown live from the Nou Camp. The score's 2-1 to Barca from the first leg, but we don't care about that. Jose Mourinho's bitter post match interview, Ronaldinho's tombstone teeth and impossibly quick feet, Andy Gray's incredibly biased commentary, these are the reasons I'll be watching - and to see if any Chelsea player can make Messi become the first Argentinean in space.

The beautifully dulcet tones of Sir David Attenborough are one of nature's greatest wonders. The legendary wildlife presenter introduces viewers to some of nature's other wonders in Planet Earth ( Sunday, BBC 1).

The series will be absolutely brilliant, like everything else he does. Cute polar bears, animal savagery, storm cloud rides, shots from space - amazing images, but with that voice I'd listen to him talk about income tax returns.

The third series of Hustle ( Friday, BBC1) begins this week. The confidence trickster show impressed in its first series with its sharp suits, inebriated camera work and colourful capers. But to be honest by the second series I was a little bit bored of the over-elaborate scams that take so much work and planning they might as well just get a job.

This week dodgy Danny poses as a record company executive to help a crooked bar owner's son who has dreams of becoming a hip-hop star - see what I mean?
