Gerard Nolan

FORMER headmaster Mr Gerard Patrick Nolan, of Helmshore Road, Holcombe, died on Friday 13 June, aged 76.

Mr Nolan, known as Spud, was a headmaster in Bury and worked at many other schools throughout the country. He was also a keen artist and photographer.

He leaves his son JG, sisters Bernice, Philomena, Mary, Margaret and Helen as well as his brother Martin. He was also an uncle and friend to many.

His funeral is on Monday 23 June when Father Michael Twomey will conduct a service at St Mary’s RC Church, Haslingden at 11.30am followed by interment at Haslingden cemetery. Flowers are welcome c/o funeral director: Dawn Johnson for Fred Hamer Funeral Service, Rawtenstall.
